This month Carter has gotten so big. He's now my little boy instead of my baby boy. Cleaning is an adventure now. Why it takes less time to make a mess than clean one up is just not logical. Thankfully Carter decided that he would try and help clean...as long as the vacuum doesn't get turned on. I guess the noise scares him. Carter will crawl away as fast as he can and then sit there and cry until you stop. I'm getting very good at vacuuming while carrying an 11 month old.
Carter is beginning to eat pretty much everything we do. It's really awesome that he'll feed himself too. This means I can eat at the same time as he does, but he takes twice as long and gets ten times messier. Oh well, he's just gaining his independence right?
Getting a good picture of Carter is much harder now too. He thinks that it's a toy and he gets play with it, meaning the second you pull it out he's there to take it away. We get a ton of blurry shots and close ups of his torso. Little stinker. Since Carter wants everything we have, we've had to pull out an old phone and get an old mouse and keyboard for him to play with.
Carter's increasing independence is becoming more apparent. He has a Leap Frog musical table that he has figured out he can push around the kitchen and use as a walker. He gets cruising pretty fast. I love when he gets stuck on a chair and can't figure out how to keep going. He's also figured out that he can pull the drawers in the island open. Being smart parents, we keep the tupperware lids in the bottom drawer for him. He loves to stand next to the open drawer and pull them all out. And don't think about putting them away after he has moved on to other toys. He'll hear you, no matter how quiet you think you are, and come back as fast as he can to pull them all out again. At least they don't hurt when you step on them...unlike toy cars magnetic letters. He definitely is learning how to tell us what he wants.
