Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was great.  We had waffles for breakfast and Ryan barbequed chicken for dinner.  He surprised me with flowers (which he never buys) and a new necklace and bracelet.  He even got up with Carter in the morning and let me sleep in a little longer.  I didn't get up til after 9.
Carter's presents were a little less desirable, but what can you expect from an infant.  That morning while Ryan was playing with him in our bed, he puked right into Ryan's mouth.  Now Ryan isn't the kind that throws up very often and he almost lost it.  So gross!  Later that day when we were at church, I was holding Carter on my lap when I suddenly felt warm on my stomach.  He decided he wanted to pee through his legs, down his pants and onto me.  Such a talented baby.  All in all it was a wonderful day.
Gorgeous!

Totally love the Bead Farm

Easter

This Easter was Carter's first so I wanted to get some photos of him with the eggs.  He wasn't going to have anything to do with that.  We celebrated by going to Ryan's aunt Loree's house on Saturday.  There we had lunch and an Easter egg hunt.  Of course, Carter's and Walker's eggs were the hardest to find since they needed the assistance of their parents.  It took forever to find the last two eggs.  On Sunday, we had breakfast casserole (a tradition I wanted to carry on from my family) and went to dinner at my parents.  It was a great first Easter for Carter.

He's so mad, but it's so cute

Carter 4 Months

Can't believe our baby is 4 months old.  He's has gotten so big!  He now weighs 13 lbs 1 oz. and is 24 inches long.  He still seems like a small baby compared to others, but to me he's huge.
Carter can roll over like a champ now, although he doesn't do it very often.  He prefers to just lay there.  He loves to stand and can sit up all by himself.  He tends to double over after a little bit cause he doesn't have the stomach muscles yet.

One thursday, when I had to go to work, I dropped Carter off with my parents.  Once Ryan got there to pick him up my mom was playing with Carter, and she got him to laugh!  Sure, the one day a week I'm not with him, he laughs.  Luckily Ryan got it on camera so I got to see it. A few days later I got him to laugh while taking a bath.

Shots this month were no fun.  It turned into an exhausting week.  He was cranky all day when he got them, and had a fever the entire next day.  He went from sleeping from 10-7 to waking up at least two or three times a night screaming.  Wednesday we had to give him a suppository because he hadn't pooped in about a week, which also made him scream in the middle of the night. I had to send Ryan to Walmart at 3:30 AM to get the suppositories, but the didn't have any! Go figure! He ended up going to Harmons before he left for work the next morning.  Luckily Carter fell back to sleep and could wait a little longer.  When we actually did the suppository, he didn't even mind. Not even a flinch was made when I did it and he seemed very relieved after it was all done.  Finally, my happy baby was back.  For the rest of the week he had a sore throat from screaming for three days.  Tylenol has become his best friend (and mine).

Fun little milestones this month include:
*double fisted finger sucking (both hands at once in the mouth)
*grabbing his toes (makes it hard to change the diapers)
*sitting all by himself
*baby pushups (if you sit close enough, he'll push of your leg)
*laughing (still a little stingy with them)
*plays in his crib when he wakes up instead of just crying (lets me sleep just a little longer)

This video is awesome. Carter learned how to blow raspberries.
My little bath-time ninja

Our friends Tyler and Jess came to visit and we got to meet their cute little baby Brooklyn.  They are two months apart, but practically the same size.

First time in his Bumbo...He loves it!

Helping me out with laundry...I think

My fingers are YUMMY!!

After the Mother's day incident of Carter puking in Ryan's mouth, I'm shocked he would still play with him like this.
4 MONTH PHOTOS

Bailee came to visit, she sure loves her cousin

Carter 3 Months

This month has been fun. Carter is getting really good at standing, which he prefers to any other position.  After diaper changes, we grab his fingers, count to three and help him stand up.  He loves it.  Bath time is much more enjoyable too.  He kicks and splashes and smiles.
FINGERS!!!
Carter sure loves his fingers.  He's figured out how to take his binky out so he can suck on his fingers instead. At least now he doesn't cry when he doesn't have something to suck on.

Carter's Blessing

On April 10, 2011 we had the opportunity to bless Carter at church.  In my effort to dress him up, I borrowed the blessing tux my mom made for Nicholas.  It was a little big (everything he wears is big on him) but super cute.  He was such a good baby during the whole thing.  He was wide awake and the bishop said he just smiled up at him the entire time.  Carter squeezed the bishops hand so hard, the bishop joked he broke his finger.

Ryan did awesome.  He was nervous, but only I could tell.  He blessed Carter that he would grow up to be strong and healthy and that he would be a joy to his brothers and sisters.  He told him that if he would follow the spirit he would be a faithful member of the church and that he would serve a mission and be able to marry his sweetheart in the temple.

After the blessing, we had all our friends and family come over to our house for lunch.  There were a ton of people that came, even family that we didn't expect.

There are two things I remember being really funny that day.  First, after the baby blessing there was only a few minutes left for testimonies.  The little boy that stood up to bear his testimony said " today when I took the sacrament I repented of my sins, and I think next week you all should do the same." Flat out made me laugh in church. The second thing, after everyone else had left, Matthew and Jamie and Ryan's parents were hanging out with us.  Ryan was holding Carter and Jamie looked up at him and said, "Ryan, can I have your baby?... I mean that one (pointing at Carter) not "have a baby" with you."  She was only slightly embarrassed with us laughing.  It wasn't until Kathie started laughing a minute later and said "I get it!"  Instantly Jamie went bright red.

It was such a great day!
We make such a cute family

My little boy is a stud!
