Boo Boos :(

Now that Carter is so independent the injuries have started. Within two days we had two boo boos. The first happened when Carter came running at me and tripped. He caught his face on the edge of the chair cutting his chin. I had to buy liquid bandaid because he wouldn't leave the regular one on. He kept ripping it off.
The second injury came the very next day. We had to get a new night light because the first had burned out. Apparently the cover pops off if you pull hard enough. Once it gave way Carter headbutted the wall and skinned his forehead. It's been a couple weeks and he's all healed up, but you can still see a little scar on his forehead. No need to say, we don't leave it plugged in when he's awake.

He wouldn't let me get too close a picture, but you can see it through the blur.

2ND BOO BOO
At least this time he left the bandaid on.

You can kinda see the cut on his chin.

We have teeth!

It always surprised people when I would tell them that my one year old didn't have any teeth. Well, about one week after Carter's birthday we had a breakthrough. Literally! Carter got his two top front teeth. He looks so funny with his big old buck teeth. Within the next week and a half, and a ton of whining, crying and fevers, Carter cut two more teeth. We went 53 weeks with no teeth and got four within two weeks. It was rough, but now he can bite his crackers before gumming them to mush. Thankfully he hasn't decided to bite us unless we put our fingers in his mouth.

Carter's first haircut

I decided that we should start the new year off right. So I gave both my boys a haircut. Carter's hair had started to get extremely long and was hanging over his ears and collars. I was kinda scared to do it, and luckily the clippers didn't scare Carter.

See how long it is over his ears?

Carter's Birthday Party

Carter's birthday party was so much fun! After looking online for theme ideas we decided to do LEGOS, and it turned out so cute. I made all the decorations and borrowed buckets of Legos from Ryan's mom. He hasn't decided if he wants to give them back or not :) Since a 1 year old can't play too much we decided to just have family over for the party. And because there are so many young cousins we made sure there were games to play. We started the party by singing to Carter and letting him eat his cake. While he finished eating his cake, we had everyone play some games. Sticking to the Lego theme we played pin the dot on the Lego, Lego nose drop, and Lego toss. Then we ate cake and ice cream while Carter got a bath. Once everyone was done we let him open all his presents. He sure got spoiled. It was so fun having our family there to celebrate this special day. Beware the picture overload :)

We played "How may Legos in the jar?" There were 284
