Lake Powell 2011

Lake Powell was a blast! Carter was such a good little guy.  He only woke up around 5am to eat and then slept the rest of the night.  The weather was great, minus the wind, and we didn't get sunburned.  Carter hated his life jacket, but loved riding in the boat. Best thing we took was his little pool. Kept him cool and he didn't eat the lake water :) Pictures say a thousand words so I'll just let them do the talking.
This is where Carter slept. Such a cutie.

The view when we woke up every morning, Gorgeous!

Getting up to feed the baby let us see some amazing sunrises

Sweet shades dude

He hung out here a lot

Stud Muffin!

This was to show the wind, see the mist coming off the water

My cute old man riding the wave runner.

Yes, this is how you stop

While everyone went to Rainbow Bridge we chilled in front of the air conditioner

Best purchase ever!

Cody attempting the "off the boat start"...You know how it ended

Tummy!! He kept showing us his belly

So glad this fit in the car. Kept him entertained

Ashley and Brittany untying the ropes

So hungry he couldn't wait to lay down to eat

The water rose super fast.  In between his hands is two days worth

The water used to be about two feet below the rocks on the left

Flooded by the time we left

St George trip

At the end of June we took a family trip to St. George.  We hadn't been back since we moved and really wanted to see our friends. We stayed with Jess and Tyler, which was awesome-no hotel! While we were there we got to see all our close friends; Jaymi Mendenhall, Tyler and Jess Roberts (Brooklyn), Seth and Kristy Culler (Tayah), our old ward, and all my old pharmacy buddies.
Being the cheap people we are, we found a way to have our trip (mileage) paid for. Since Ryan works for Family Search we could be reimbursed if he stopped and worked at some family history centers. So, we drove to Circleville. Where is that you ask? Exactly! It's directly east of Beaver, over the mountains in the middle of nowhere. Besides the financial benefit of stopping there, we were able to plan our trip around Carter's eating schedule.  Fed him before we left and by the time we got to Circleville we fed him again and let him play for an hour or two while Ryan worked.  Perfect for a trip with the baby.  He didn't get mad about being strapped in the car seat for too long and I didn't have to ride in the back.
Side note: the family history director in Circleville is nuts! If you ever want a good story, just                 ask Ryan. He even has a running joke with his coworkers because of it.
We are blessed with the baby we have. He didn't really cry about being in the car until we got to New Harmony. We finished our drive and remembered what we didn't miss about St. George...the HEAT! Poor little baby got super sweaty whenever we had to go somewhere.
During our trip we decided to attend church at our old ward. Apparently the reorganized the ward boundaries about a month after we moved.  It was fun to see our friends from the ward and it made me miss all the good people there in the St George 2nd ward. Everyone there got excited to think we were moving back...sorry nope.
We finished off the weekend trip by going out with friends and baking all the goodies for Lake Powell. It was really fun to see our friends.

Carter loves to play with daddy

Carter is getting good at making faces

We drove past the movie theater and there was Mater!
