The last 12 months have been quite an adventure. We sure do love our little boy. Carter just took off once he started walking and hasn't stopped. He's starting throwing things (something his father taught him) and climbing on top of anything he can. His favorite toys are anything that makes noise. Even if the toy doesn't seem like it should make noise, he can figure out how to fix that...bang it on the floor or throw it. There is never a quiet moment when Carter is awake. He loves to scream (high pitched as it should be), yell (so it echoes), and talks nonstop. We've taken advantage of his enthusiasm to make noise and taught him a few words. He can say "mo" (more), "uh!" (up), "airgo" (there you go), and of course mom and dad. It's really nice being able to communicate with the little guy.
Carter loves to eat what we eat. Especially if it's off our plate. We can put the same food in front of him and he'll eat more off our plate than his own. You can tell when he's hungry because he gets whiny and starts hitting you.
Since he's been walking like a pro, we decided to buy his first pair of big boy shoes. It was hard finding a pair that Ryan and I could both stand and we ended up buying the sporty tennis shoes that light up when he walks. You can't go wrong with light up shoes.
